Meet Chuck

Meet Chuck

Chuck Park is a Queens-born former diplomat, community advocate, and city government leader running for Congress to represent New York's 6th congressional district. The son of Korean immigrants who worked tirelessly as street vendors and then small-business owners, Chuck is running to ensure that working families in Queens have a representative who will stand up, speak out, and fight for them. Chuck's campaign is rooted in a simple belief: elected leaders should serve the people — not allow their office to become a recliner seat for entrenched politicians.

Made In Queens

Made In Queens

Chuck was born at Flushing Hospital and raised in Flushing. He and his four siblings spent summers working at their parents' food mart in Jackson Heights. Like many immigrant families in Queens, Chuck and his siblings also lived with their halmeoni, their grandma, who helped raise them. Chuck's parents built a life through sacrifice and determination, and their experience shaped Chuck's understanding of what government should do: protect opportunity, dignity, and security for working families.

Those values led him into public service and, in 2010, Chuck joined the United States Foreign Service, commissioned during the administration of President Barack Obama. As a U.S. diplomat, he represented American values in Mexico, Portugal, and Canada for almost a decade. But in 2019, Chuck resigned from the State Department in protest of the Trump administration's immigration policies, giving up his diplomatic career to stand by his principles.

Dedicated to the Community

Dedicated to the Community

Back in Queens, Chuck focused on serving the communities that shaped him. He worked as an organizer, helping immigrant families access legal assistance, social services, and community support. He served as a city government leader, supporting constituents, schools, senior centers, and more across his district. He later was a VP at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, working to strengthen economic opportunity and growth across New York City. Chuck is a husband, a dad, and a foster parent, and he is running to ensure that working families in Queens have a representative who will stand up, speak out, and fight for them.
