504 Democratic Club Endorses Chuck Park for Congress in New York's 6th Congressional District
The 504 Democratic Club has officially endorsed Chuck Park in his campaign for New York’s 6th Congressional District, marking the first major endorsement of his candidacy.
The progressive disability rights organization announced its support in a social media video, citing Park’s commitment to justice, accessibility, and defending and expanding the rights of people with disabilities across Queens and beyond.
“We are proud to endorse Chuck Park for Congress,” said Mike Schweinsburg, President of the 504 Democratic Club. “People with disabilities are both the largest minority and the least supported. Unlike other representatives who fail to engage with our community, Chuck Park has listened to us, and he has committed to defend and expand our rights. We’re excited to work to elect him to Congress, and we know he’ll be a powerful champion for disabled New Yorkers and all residents of Queens.”
Chuck Park, a Queens native and former U.S. diplomat, said the endorsement underscores the urgent need for bold leadership in Washington.
“The injustices people with disabilities face are unacceptable,” Park said. “From defending against attacks on Section 504 and the ADA to increasing opportunities for employment and advancement to building for universal design, I’m running for Congress to fight for the full participation of people with disabilities in our society.”
If elected, Park pledged to champion comprehensive accessibility policies that go beyond basic compliance — ensuring full and equitable access across transportation systems, public spaces, and federal buildings nationwide.
The campaign’s social media video announcement, filmed at the Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Avenue/74th Street subway station and bus terminal, highlights the importance of this pledge for residents of the 6th Congressional District, emphasizing the need to protect hard-won civil rights and ensure that people with disabilities can live, work, and thrive with dignity and independence.
