Chuck Park Earns Endorsement from the New York Progressive Action Network (NYPAN) in NY-06 Congressional Race

Queens, NYThe New York Progressive Action Network (NYPAN), a statewide grassroots organization founded in the wake of the 2016 elections to advance progressive reform across New York, has officially endorsed Chuck Park in his campaign for New York’s 6th Congressional District.

The endorsement marks a significant milestone in Park’s campaign to unseat longtime incumbent Grace Meng, who has represented the district for over a decade and has faced only one primary challenger during that time. NYPAN’s endorsement underscores the growing strength of this primary challenge and highlights a rising wave of grassroots energy demanding new leadership in Queens and throughout New York City.

Founded by grassroots organizers emerging from the 2016 presidential campaign, NYPAN has grown into a network of more than 30 chapters statewide, uniting activists, labor allies, and community organizations to advance electoral reform, healthcare for all, and social and economic justice. The organization is known for its focus on electoral politics, leadership development, and coordinated grassroots action across urban, suburban, and upstate communities.

Maria Ordonez, Political Director of NYPAN, emphasized the stakes of the moment: “As a nation, we are facing unprecedented attacks by the federal government against our communities alongside a deepening affordability crisis. In times like these, we need leaders like Chuck Park in Congress who will fight for bold progressive solutions such as Medicare for All and the abolition of ICE.”

Chuck Park, a Queens native and former U.S. diplomat, said the endorsement reflects a shared commitment to grassroots power and transformative change: “NYPAN was built by everyday New Yorkers who refused to walk away from the fight for justice after 2016. Their endorsement is a powerful affirmation that our campaign is part of a growing movement to challenge entrenched political power and deliver real results for working families. Together, we’re building a people-powered campaign that puts healthcare, affordability, and dignity at the center of our politics.”

Since launching his grassroots campaign in late November, Park has rapidly gained traction through community organizing and digital outreach. His campaign videos have garnered millions of views online, fueling volunteer engagement and small-dollar fundraising across the district.

Park has pledged to refuse corporate PAC, lobbyist, and AIPAC contributions, positioning his campaign as an alternative to politics-as-usual in Washington.

“NYPAN is proud to support Chuck because he stands with working people and is ready to hold power accountable,” says Ordonez of NYPAN.

The NYPAN endorsement represents a clear step forward for Park’s insurgent primary bid, underscoring both the seriousness of his challenge and the appetite among progressive organizers for new representation in NY-06.
